Outline planning consent for 420-440 houses was granted by the Secretary of State, Sajiv Javid, in September 2016. Almost a year later, GAG is not currently aware of any actions by the Developer to progress the development plan at this stage. However, this is not to say that work is not going on 'behind the scenes'.

Second Public Inquiry

The application 14/00293/MAO was called-in by the Secretary of State in 2015 and a Second Public Inquiry was held in October 2015.
The decision to approve the application was announced on 26th September.
Appeals must be lodged by 4th November 2016.

The latest planning application is to be heard at the Regulatory and Appeals Committee at 10:00am on 19th June 2014 at Bingley Arts Centre, Main Street, Bingley.

New Application 14/00293/MAO

On 27th January 2014 the developers submitted a new application. More details will be given shortly but be aware you will need to object again and sign our petition which will go online next week. Whilst notification letters have been issued by the Council showing a response date of 19th February, this should read 28th February. We will provide information on points of objection but feel free to write now as you can always write again with further points.Indeed the Council have agreed to accept representations up to the date of the Planning Panel (date not yet available).

*** WE WON ***

An announcement was made today (20th July 2012) that the Secretary of State has dismissed the developers appeal. There is an 85 page report and a copy of this is available on this link (Public Inquiry Decision). We need to read this to understand exactly what has been said and the grounds upon which it was dismissed and we will advise further soonest.

Meantime thank you to everyone who assisted us throughout the campaign with personal and financial help to get us to this position and to achieve what many saw as a fight against the odds.

We WON AGAIN!!! Sty Lane is no longer included in the RUDP

Following a blunder by the Council Officers none of the outstanding housing sites in the RUDP were saved by the Council and accordingly the Council has removed Sty lane and others from the RUDP leaving these sites open to legal challenge.

We WON!!! Shipley Planning Panel has REJECTED application 11/01203/MAO

At the Planning Panel on 23rd September 2011 the Panel Members rejected the Sty Lane application by a vote of 6 to 1. We wish to thank them for having the courage to stand against the Planning Officers who were recommending approval.
